Sr. Product Manager – Security Products

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Sr. Product Manager of Security Products will work with cross-functional teams that are charged with developing and marketing Aruba's strong portfolio of WLAN & network security products. You will be responsible for improving functionality and marketability of exiting products, and help address new market opportunities based on you industry experience. You must be versatile with a good blend of business acumen and technical savy, and a quick learner with the ability to shoulder new responsibilities in a dynamic environment. A big-picture vision, and the energy, drive, work ethic to make that vision a reality would be highly valued.

You will work with engineering counterparts to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing teams to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channels and key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving product strategy and roadmap for security products including Wireless IDS/IPS, Firewall, NAC, etc.
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Specifying marketing requirements for current and future products by conducting market research and customer interaction
  • Work closely with product marketing to develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan
  • Evangelizing/messaging/marketing the security solution to the field and the customers
  • This position requires travel (10- 20%).

Skills and Experience:

  • Approximately 5 years experience in a security products management role
  • Demonstrable experience in hands-on networking, including all aspects of IP communications
  • Technically sound and knowledgeable about security technologies and methodologies-encryption, authentication, wireless and/or wired IDS systems, anti-virus systems, access control, deep-packet inspection firewalls, etc.
  • Wireless networking knowledge is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, presentation experience with a well-developed emotional IQ
  • Self-managing, with sound judgment to prioritize/balance customer, field requests and business goals
  • Must think and act like a business owner, with ability to present product P&L, project ROI analysis
  • Experience in working with sales, marketing, customer advocacy, and operations organizations
  • Experience with the federal customers, programs, certifications (FIPS, Common Criteria) is a plus
  • Technical and/or business degree desired but not required
