Summary:

This position is accountable for in-depth knowledge of all components within the Genius suite of products and other application as implemented. The Reinsurance Systems Business Analyst is responsible for receiving, analyzing, completing and coordinating the business requirements of all assigned requested projects, user issues raised, and change requests. They will be responsible for the analysis and implementation (which includes testing) activities of the assigned activities to ensure that project objectives and issue resolution are successfully accomplished within the planned timeframe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Research and document business requirements for new applications or changes to current applications.

* Investigate and provide solutions to assigned helpdesk items, change requests or systems business requirements.

* Implement solutions to assigned change requests or documented business requirements. This may involve changing the current configuration of the application or programming effort for example to deliver a report.

* Develop and execute plans and scripts to test new applications or changes to existing applications.

* Develop end-user documentation and technical guides.

* Develop operational reports.

* Provide end-user and technical application training.

* Develop and establish strong and effective working relationships with Management and staff, project contacts and other project stakeholders.

* Direct, lead, coordinate and manage assigned projects, or project phases, activities and tasks for assigned projects.

* Take ownership for ensuring adherence to documented policies and procedures while executing the responsibilities outlined above.

* Provide support to other IT team members and others as required, on an as needed basis.

* Review all requested alternations to the Genius System

* Analyze each requested change including the impact that the change, if any, will have on the individual Business Entities or any entity utilizing the effected system located within the company IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:

* Significant experience, knowledge and expertise in business and systems analysis and design and project life cycle methodology, best practices and processes. Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience.

* Significant Reinsurance industry experience and knowledge with a strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance terminology, business functions and processes. Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience.

* GENIUS application support experience essential. Minimum 3 years of experience.

* Very Strong verbal, written, presentation and negotiation communication skills.

* Very strong interpersonal relationship, team building, collaboration and facilitation skills.

* Ability to produce consistently high quality work while working to tight deadlines.

* Very strong problem solving and analytical skills and is a systemic thinker, including ‘thinking out of the box’ and seeking the most effective solutions for users from their perspective. This would include having the ability to occasionally challenge accepted thinking, while offering constructive alternatives.

* Strong planning and organizational skills, with a proven track record in managing projects, or being a key player on major business or systems projects. The ability to prioritize workloads and manage user expectations is essential in this role.

* Change agent who facilitates and influences positive change.

* Self starter, able to work independently possibly off site, albeit part of a team which is primarily based out of the US.

* SQL knowledge a plus
