The Manager, Human Resources provides significant professional, analytical and technical support to implement HR related change objectives, development and maintenance of HR policies, programs and procedures. Serves as a contact and resource for Management Team and employees regarding issues or interpretation relative to Risk Management, Recruitment, On-boarding and Compensation and Benefit programs, including complex issues such as leave of absences, employee issues or performance review processes.


A. Education
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience is required.
2. SPHR certification preferred.

B. Experience/Knowledge:
1. Requires experience in advising/educating Directors with respect to employee relations issues and the Human Resources-related laws, regulations and practices.
2. Demonstrated expertise in consulting with Directors and employees regarding HR issues that arise throughout all stages of the employment relationship.
3. Demonstrated expertise in a wide variety of operational aspects of Human Resources processes or applications, including but not limited to employee relations, grievance resolution, benefits,
job evaluation and compensation systems.
4. Requires proven successful experience in HRIS, supervisory training and development, and conducting harassment investigations.
5. Healthcare HR experience highly desirable.

C. Skills:
1. Knowledge of all HR policies and statutory and regulatory requirements including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, California Labor Code, CFRA, Wage and Hour Law, Workers'
Compensation Law, FLSA, FEHA, ADA, FRA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, OSHA, EDD (SDI/UI), and other laws and regulations required.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
3. Requires demonstrated analytical skills, ability to influence at all levels, exhibits group process and facilitation skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of organizational responsiveness.
5. Knowledge and proficiency on computer software for analysis and presentation (i.e., HRIS, spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics) required.
6. Ability to organize, adapt and re-prioritize to meet deadlines in an environment of rapid change and system growth are required.
7. Dependable transportation and appropriate driving record required for off-site assignments.
