JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides quality customer service to our customers in the Market Department. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper Market conditions. The Meat Cutter has limited authority over Market associates in the absence of the Market Manager. The Meat Cutter may be the only associate working in the Market area for a large percentage of time. Maximizes sales through excellent customer service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Receives and handles product. Ensures quality control and conditions of the department. Maintains a variety of products while conforming to the production standards set by Food Lion. Provides friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service. Maintains sanitation of the entire department, along with rotation and pricing. Wraps and weighs meats when necessary. Provides proper handling of reductions. Operates all Market Department equipment including slicer, grinder, scale, saw, knife, wrapper, and cuber. Ability to maintain a knife grip in order to cut primals and subprimals to specification. Ability to disassemble, clean, and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process. Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 70 pounds and push or pull up to 2000 pounds with a pallet jack. This list is not all inclusive.
