General Summary:
This will entail z/OS development responsibilities to enable and enhance Symmetrix capabilities and features. This is an integral role that requires extensive z/OS development knowledge to develop and support critical customer applications.
This person will be responsible for developing/supporting internal/external applications to drive Symmetrix functions from the z/OS platform. To be successful in this role, a candidate needs to be an independent thinker capable of designing and delivering customized solutions. Technically, a mastery of z/Architecture assembler, z/OS internals, I/O drivers, I/O subsystem, and channel programming is highly desired. Knowledge of programming techniques pertaining to: inter-system communication, event notification, PC environment, AR mode, and 64 bit addressing mode is beneficial. In this senior role, we require 15 or more years of experience, with a majority of that time focused on designing and delivering complex programs.
Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive, in-depth experience with z/Architecture assembler, z/OS internals, I/O drivers, I/O subsystem and channel programming


• Extensive knowledge of programming techniques pertaining to: inter-system communication, event notification, PC environment, AR mode, and 64 bit addressing mode is beneficial


• 12+ years z/OS development experience, primarily focused on designing and delivering complex programs.


• Ability to perform system diagnostics using System trace and GTF


• Knowledge of EMC Storage Platforms a plus
