JOB DESCRIPTION:
Drives class A-tractor tanker combination to transport cryogenic liquid oxygen, and nitrogen to assigned branches and customer locations. May also transport specialty industrial, medical gas cylinders and hard goods using a 45' tube type, flatbed, or van trailer to customer and inter-branch locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Will comply with regulatory agency requirements, i.e. DOT, EPA, OSHA, FDA, et al.
• Will comply with recommended and approved liquid transfer Safety Procedures.
• Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
• Knowledge of hazards associated with gases and liquids exposed to.
• Follow tractor / transport preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
• Wear approved personal protective equipment when loading and unloading liquid transport.
• Maintain appropriate drivers' license.
• Complies with all highway laws and rules.
MARGINAL DUTIES:
• Full responsibility for tractor / transport assigned.
• Documents and reports, immediately, all vehicle and equipment problems.
• Must be punctual and comply with hourly work schedules.
• Ensures all paperwork is completed, legible, signed and dated.
• Perform other duties as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Vehicles
a. Perform and document daily pre and post inspections.
b. Load and unload
c. Process shipping documents by date, time, customer and product delivered.
d. Verify load against shipping papers.
e. Clean inside of vehicle and perform routine maintenance.
2. Customer
a. Project and insist on customer satisfaction.
b. Listen to and resolve customer complaints.
c. Prepare shipping documents for customer signature.
3. Cryogenic Liquid
a. Know cryogenic physical properties of liquid being delivered.
4. Internal
a. Maintain radio contact with supervisor for delivery instructions.
b. Prepare or pull orders as time allows.
c. Assist with inventory as requested.
d. Analyze and resolve work problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Class A drivers license with Tanker, HazMat & Airbrakes endorsements
• Must provide current medical card and copy of current MVR.
• Three years driving experience with a Class A CDL.
• Clean driving record of at least three years.
• Must be willing to perform a road test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs. and occasionally lift 51 - 100 lbs.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 10 hours; frequent bending also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
• Must be able to travel overnight when required.
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10? to 110?.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• If internal, must not have any disciplinary action within previous 90 days.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
• Some experience with tractor tanker combination.
• Some experience in handling compressed gases and cryogenic liquids.
• Customer service or sales experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the Company.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
