WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

We are an industry leader providing insurance solutions through complex policies referred to as "financial products", which include claims-made D&O, E&O and EPL policies. We seek candidates for the position of Associate Claims Analyst who can work as part of a team supporting the HFP Claim unit by performing functions which serve to effectively enhance and expedite the claims handling process and support the achievement of claims handling and service guidelines. Responsibilities include:
  • Review incoming mail and assign to a new or existing matter.
  • Prepare and send follow-up letters (i.e. litigation management, excess letters, certain claim denials, etc.).
  • Summarize file documents such as legal documents and pleadings, personnel files, prepare factual timelines on complex cases.
  • Prepare coverage spreadsheets and policy review sheets; review legal bills and respond to status requests.
  • Perform limited legal research on internet, Lexis, court dockets, obtain stock runs, request publicly available documents.
  • Handle high level excess cases and certain notice of potential claims. Perform file closure activities; process reserve changes and requests for authority.
  • Assist in information gathering for reporting/escalation requirements.
  • Supports ad hoc reporting requests.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Qualified Candidates should meet all of the following requirements:

1) Undergraduate degree, paralegal certification or appropriate combination of education and experience.
2) A minimum of 1-3 years of professional business experience ideally in a legal or claims environment.
3) Self-starter with ability to work independently.
4) Ability to manage a high volume of cases with proven skills at prioritization and multi-tasking.
5) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6) Strong computer skills.
