Job Responsibilities

  • Act as senior liaison for accounts in Chicago , and other offices when necessary, with responsibility for senior-level account planning and supervision of the account teams
  • Effectively contribute to strategy sessions on new and existing accounts and develop strategy for implementing successful client programs
  • Responsible for staff utilization and development, revenue generation, income projections, expense control, and administrative functions related to executing the annual business plan and in meeting profit objectives
  • Function as key player in pursuing new business opportunities and in leading the proposal and presentation processes
  • Troubleshoot clients’ problems as they arise and provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis
  • Generate incremental business opportunities with existing client base
  • Take a leadership role in new business proposal development and work with account teams to build incremental business
  • Ensure that all programs are strategically on target with client partners’ business objectives
  • Prepare and manage account financials including budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing; ensure account profitability
  • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and staff
  • Communicate overall marketing objectives, expectations and successful execution of marketing strategy to members of the team and staff
  • Evaluate the team’s effort collectively and individually. Promptly review their work and provide constructive feedback
  • Serve as the senior on-site agency contact at events and in the office
  • Serve as a liaison between senior management and staff
  • Actively participate with the Managing Partner in Chicago in developing the in-market team and planning / executing initiatives to grow the office and build its profile in Chicago and the Midwest

Qualities Desired

  • 9+ years of agency experience working with consumer brands.
  • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling. Strong knowledge of digital / social media platforms and the implementation of programs utilizing these mediums is a must.
  • Proven track record in growing business.
  • Direct experience in building and managing teams comprised of professional and non-exempt personnel.
  • Candidates should be confident with a voice and a vision, take great pride in their work, have enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, possess sophisticated client service and core PR skills, and be a leader by example.
