Senior Applications Engineer You will be primarily responsible for supporting customers who use company’s chips, and participating in new product development. Duties include: design complex application circuits; visit customers to promote parts; define new chips; train company internal Sales and FAE (Field Applications Engineers) teams; lead failure analysis investigation; create simple application circuits for customers; characterize chips and circuits; recommend parts to customers; write articles for national and international magazines.
The successful candidate will be an analog and mixed-signal board-level designer with a good knowledge of embedded product design, and will possess strong verbal and written communication skills. This position is a key part of the Product Marketing and Applications team responsible for promoting our current products plus developing our next generation devices.
Responsibilities: • Evaluating new products, writing technical product literature including application notes. • Provide key, quick-turn product specific technical applications engineering support to our customers and field teams. • Lab evaluation on existing and new product silicon. • Training internal Sales and FAE teams. • Develop competitive analysis summaries. • Experience must include: characterizing, debugging, and designing analog circuits. • Knowledge of Analog/Mixed Signal, Digital, Software and Firmware Design • Lab evaluation on existing and new product silicon. • Design, layout, build, and test application boards to promote / demonstrate products. • Work with the Business Manager and Field Personnel to secure design wins. • Provide content and ideas for web site, data sheets & EV Kits. • Develop Evaluation Kit and reference design hardware and software if required. Complete manuscript draft for evaluation kit datasheet. • Develop product specific peripheral drivers and tools. • Provide device specific application engineering support. Educate, answer questions, debug issues, and solve problems for customers relating to new and existing devices and evaluation kits. Travel may be required in some cases. • Write application notes, user guides, articles, design ideas, new product proposals, and evaluation kit manuscripts for internal and/or external publication. Support Business Management by reviewing new device manuscripts. • Work with Product Definition to contribute towards completion. • Work with Business Management, Account Managers, and Field Application Engineers to secure design wins.
Travel: About 10% Domestic and International travel is required.
