As a member of the Manufacturing Technology group, the candidate will provide product technical expertise and support to manufacturing and partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for transfer of state-of-the-art line cards from development into manufacturing
- Ensure designs meet DFM and DFT requirements
- Review design/test specifications and test plans
- Key member of cross-functional product development team
- Responsible for sustaining engineering for released products
- Define and lead process & yield improvement initiatives
- Define and drive product cost reduction initiatives
- Key member of defect reduction team
- Partner with engineering and operations to define and implement manufacturing infrastructure including:
- Validate test implementation plan
- Define test parameters based on product and design specifications
- Create and release manufacturing process instructions
- Drive the 1st article validation of manufacturing processes
- Utilize product functional and architectural knowledge to implement optimal manufacturing processes
- Work with component engineers and supply base engineers to support key suppliers
- Drive root cause analysis and correction of field failures as needed
- Be responsible to run HALT testing and drive product improvements based on HALT test results.
Job Requirements:
- BSEE/Physics and 5+ years experience
- 3+ years of direct experience with complex electrical systems, preferably in the communications industry
- 1+ year working in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of single board computer concept utilizing PowerPC/Freescale processor, DDR Memmory, NAND/NOR flash, Ethernet switch
- Understanding the usage of typical tele/datacom devices such as SERDES, Framer, Switch fabric, Crosspoint switch.,
- Able to understand the design sufficiently to debug to the root cause
- Hands-on experience with tele/datacom test equipment such as traffic generators, communication performance analyzers (BERT),
- Experience with digital circuit testing methodologies
- Strong understanding of hi speed digital circuit analysis including but not limited to transmission line theory, PLL, CDR, data frame structure, etc …
- Working knowledge of fiber optics and related instruments preferred
- Proficient with statistical analysis
- The ideal candidate is analytic, detail-oriented, with great quantitative analysis skills, is self-motivated, a great team leader, able to pro-actively communicate with all employees and work well in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- This position requires interface throughout all levels and functions of the organization. Requires a cooperative team-balanced perspective for appropriate output and task outcome
