Integration Engineer Overview:
Carrier IQ is hiring an Integration Engineer to support handset OEM vendor integration of our device-resident software. We are looking for people who enjoy solving challenging problems with creative solutions, working with customers and partners, and leading technical integration efforts. The successful candidate can drive internal and external customer schedules and activities to meet project timelines and milestones, can test and troubleshoot difficult and critical integration issues, and enjoys digging deep into code to identify root causes of failures. He or she must have the fortitude to validate and certify accurate functionality of code that will be used by tens of millions of handsets worldwide on a daily basis with no room for faults. Key Responsibilities:
As an Integration Engineer you will be the first point of contact to our OEM customers and responsible for first and second tier technical support for OEM integrations of our device-resident software. Your responsibilities will include:
· Providing device integration support to carriers and handset OEM vendors including training and some on-site consultancy
· Testing, troubleshooting, source code debugging with the OEM, and resolve critical integration issues
· Identify, define, and implement new test code to extend the CIQ test suite
· Writing technical documentation and training materials to support OEM integrations
· Maintain and provide content and documentation for the external partner Integration Portal
· Manage the overall integration activities, coordinating support for device validation and certification of CIQ technology integrated on the device, track integration schedule and progress, and report, escalate, and resolve integration issues
· Interact with R&D team assisting with definition of new features, tools, and documentation to reduce the OEM integration efforts
· Train and mentor other integration engineers
Job Requirements:
· Bachelors in CS or EE, Masters preferred
· 5 or more years of experience with C & C++, with strong code debugging skills
· 5 or more years of experience with embedded devices, preferably mobile device
· Strong communication and technical writing skills
· Experience with customer interaction and support
· Commitment to schedule and milestones with a “Get it done” attitude
· Experience with embedded debugging environments and tools
· Commitment to engineering quality and automated testing
· Demonstrated leadership competencies in a highly technical environment
· Experience with embedded OSs (Windows Mobile, Symbian, Linux, VxWorks, etc.)
· Experience with wireless telecomm protocols (GSM/GPRS, EDGE, UMTS) desired
· Experience with network simulators desired
· Some travel is required
