The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in accordance with the Division of Clinical Laboratory Standards and pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 64B3-13.003. Perform competency validated laboratory procedures ordered by appropriate Medical Staff and Physician.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of various lab sections in the absence of a Supervisor or Senior Technologist.

Requirements include: Associate's of Science Degree meeting state llicensure requirements (64B3-5.003). State of FL Technologist licensed in Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry and Immunology. Minimum of 2 years experience.


Preferences include: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology and more than 2 years experience in at least Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology and Microbiology.




Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and to demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.


1. Basic computer and keyboarding skills.

2. Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.

3. Ability to work and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

4. Ability and willingness to work at multiple facilities and/or in multiple departments

5. Ability and willingness to adapt to change.

6. Knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations including: CAP, CLIA and State of Florida.

7. Strong interest in development of leadership skills.

8. Excellent communication skills.
