Job Title: Sr. Staff Engineer, SoC Architect

Location: Sunnyvale

Telegent has delivered a breakthrough technology that has transformed the landscape of the mobile TV industry, by enabling phones to receive TV broadcasts from both analog and digital broadcast standards. Telegent's support for analog standards is unique in the industry, enabling manufacturers to provide consumers with worldwide access to free, live TV programming using existing broadcast infrastructure that has been built out over the last sixty years. This capability has led to shipments that have now surpassed those of all other digital subscription standards combined, resulting in millions of mobile TV viewers in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will define product specifications and architectures of leading-edge SoCs that would result in efficient system integration while meeting performance requirement.

Requirements:

· At least 4 years of experience in defining SoC architectures involving mixed signal circuitry.

· Experience in Video and Audio algorithms/architectures is necessary.

· Define product features and performance figures while interacting with various engineering teams (RF, digital HW, DSP,).

· Define validation plans for product prototype and actual silicon, active participation in debugging/analysis efforts.

· Generate and own product technical specifications, Very strong documentation skills are required

· Provide technical guidance during development of new IP cores and sub-systems to the design teams.

· Excellent problem solving skills, strong analysis skills, independent thinker.

· Experience with at least 2 of the following: Matlab, C/C++ and/or Perl.

Desired:

· Solid understanding of analog TV standards PAL, NTSC and SECAM

· Exposure to RF and analog circuits’ specifications such as tuners, ADCs/DACs, PLLs.

· Knowledge of analog / digital communication theory.

Educational Requirements:

· Advanced degree with at least 8 years of experience is required.
