The Strategic Account SE is responsible for driving software and professional services revenue in CommVault’s Strategic account base (typically Fortune 500-1000 accounts).
Job Responsibilities:
- Articulate the CommVault message & vision to IT executives, mapping CommVault’s strategic direction to customer needs
- Create and present the business case surrounded by merits of a Simpana solution to C-level executives
- Architect creative & innovative CommVault Simpana solutions aimed at solving business, operational, and financial issues
- Propose and demonstrate the CommVault Simpana suite of products through the use of demo’s, white board, presentations, etc.
- Assist with RFP/RFI responses
- Assist, as needed, with industry speaking engagements or seminars
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and competing/complimentary products. Leverage the knowledge obtained in sales cycles
- Conduct, manage, and lead customer software pilots or “proof-of-concepts”.
- Work with internal departments (sales, support, marketing, development), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive.
- Ability to identify and deliver customer requirements, including the ability to provide meaningful field input to the product teams, to enhance our overall platform/value proposition
- Travel 40%-50% of the time, nationally.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field
- 7+ years in the software or storage industry
- Experience working directly with senior level Fortune 1000 customers, coupled with a strong understanding of the industry disciplines, technologies and applications relevant to data management solutions
- Success penetrating and managing major accounts (Fortune 500-1000)
- 5+ years experience serving in a pre-sales systems engineer role
- Prior experience leading a team, solving complex business or technical issues (a plus).
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure and operations.
- Working or competitive knowledge of Veritas NBU, Legato Networker, TSM, etc
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Prior experience selling, installing, and architecting data management solutions (backup and recovery, data migration, replication, compliance, SRM, etc)
- Specialized knowledge/skills and demonstrated proficiency with at least one major open systems operating system (UNIX or NT)
- Prior hands-on system administration
- Advanced knowledge of Fibre Channel design skills (SAN)
- Enterprise application exposure and knowledge of (Oracle, Exchange, Informix, Sharepoint, etc).
- Experience with clustering technologies (MSCS, MC/ServiceGuard, etc)
- Superior knowledge of tape drives, libraries, storage arrays, storage networking, networking protocols, and general connectivity in multi-platform enterprise environments
- Exhibits superb project planning and time management skills
