Job Description
Job Description-Quality Inspection Supervisor
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing quality inspection activities in support of the manufacturing and procurement departments as well as overall support of the quality organization. The Quality Inspection Supervisor provides guidance and technical support to inspectors and operators in conduction related activities and tasks. The Quality inspection Supervisor will also support Quality Engineering as requested.
Leadership:
• Performs and guides others in deploying and improving Incoming Inspection processes.
• Sets process metric goals in partnership with the Quality Manager and Winergy Leadership Team.
• Shares best practices across functional areas.
• Typical responsibility for innovation to continuously enhance or improve existing processes, products, policies, and methods.
• Mentor team members in order to facilitate their continued professional development and individual capabilities, while ensuring effective teamwork.
Other supporting responsibilities:
• Drive continuous improvement through utilization tools such as DOE, Six Sigma (DMAIC), FMEA, SPC, and 8D Root Cause Analysis, and Lean.
• Maintain and Analyze Key Performance Indicators and Cost of Poor Quality data to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions to reduce internal and external failure costs.
• Maintain a corrective action system to effectively address supplier related issues.
• Lead investigations to determine root cause(s) of product defects including field and internal failures. Apply appropriate control plans to achieve problem containment, and then drive corrective and preventative actions to address the determined problem(s). Audit as required to verify effectiveness of actions.
• Provide quality training to functional owners and process owners as business needs dictate.
Requirements:
5 years of experience in a lead quality assurance role as an Inspection Supervisor/Quality Engineer preferably with gear and pinion knowledge
• BS in related Engineering discipline
• In-depth understanding of quality concepts and principles
• Experience with FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), 8D (Standard Classification of Root Cause Analysis), PPAP (Purchase Part Approval Process) and ISO-9001/14001
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
• Strong problem solving and analytical ability
• Strong facilitation skills
• Effective communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
• Six Sigma Certification (GB, BB, or MBB)
• Quality Assurance Certification (CQE, CQA, CQM)
