Title: Software Quality Engineer (Storage, Virtualization)

We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join a team that is testing and qualifying high availability, multi-platform, system-level, storage-related products that involve kernel and user-level components. We are looking for hands-on, talented

and practical individuals with experience in designing test cases, configuring test beds, testing and qualifying system level software and product components on a predictable schedule.

Role and responsibilities:

• Candidate will have to understand the storage related product and be responsible for executing assigned tests and report results within the testing schedule.


• Perform installation and configuration of setup in Lab to carry out testing.


• Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats


• Follow standard engineering practices under the direction of the manager and seniors. Demonstrate self-initiative and seeks assistance when required.


• Some weekends and evenings will be required.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline is required.


• 2 -3 years of experience with 1 or more years in Quality Assurance for system level software products.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with Software development lifecycle and Quality concepts.


• A demonstrated ability to configure, troubleshoot and defect isolation on hardware or software is a must.


• Strong experience in any one of the common computer platforms (AIX, HP/UX, Linux, Solaris, Windows, VMWare)


• Exposure to File Systems (ufs/ vxfs ) and Volume Managers (LVM/VxVM)


• Knowledge of storage and storage related technologies including SAN or/and storage management.


• Exposure to Storage hardware (Symmetrix, CLARiiON), SAN switches (Cisco, Brocade), Business Continuity applications (TimeFinder/SRDF, MirrorView) is a big plus.


• Perl/Python/Shell scripting experience is an advantage.


• Experience with Mercury Test Director is good to have.


• Excellent verbal and written communications skills


• Ability to work with geographically dispersed team

• Must be a team player.
