Position Overview

Promote and sell Hoosier Motor Club property and casualty insurance products.

Responsibilties

  • Learns product features, computer systems and programs, marketing and sales techniques necessary to perform duties.
  • Prospects for and develops an adequate number of leads to meet sales production goals established by management.
  • Adheres to HMCIA guidelines and procedures, as well as those of the insurance companies represented by HMCIA.
  • Service existing insureds as necessary due to sales activity and continually promote the use of the Customer Service Unit
  • Develops and refers life insurance leads to Life Insurance Specialist.
  • Conducts annual review of existing policies as assigned to up-date information and cross-sell additional insurance products the agency offers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four- year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain an Indiana operator’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Must possess and maintain a property and casualty license to sell insurance in the State of Indiana .
  • Ability to accurately work with details.
  • Ability to operate office machines (typewriter, copy machine, computer, calculator, multi-phone line and FAX machine).
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Windows-based software including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and business information.
  • Ability to write business correspondence.
  • Math skills with ability to calculate discounts, percentages, etc.
  • Problem solving with concrete and abstract variables.
  • Ability to lift and/or move materials weighing up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move materials up to 25 pounds.
