Auto Inspector/Trainee: SGS North America Inc.

SGS Automotive Services, a leading provider of vehicle inspection services, has an immediate opening for an Auto Inspector to conduct inspections of new vehicles at our Fort Wayne facility.

The physical demands of the job require the employee to walk and stand for prolong periods of time to observe vehicles; stoop, bend, squat and kneel to properly inspect bumpers; may climb and pull oneself up steel ladders to heights up to 18 feet and descend to inspect the security of vehicles stowed on railcars or step up on/down from vehicle to observe roof for damages; feel, grasp and finger panel areas for scratches, gouges, dents and dings; distinguish vehicle tone for color classification; and handle and grasp a one to two pound hand held computer for data entry. Occasionally the walking and/or standing is over uneven or rocky surfaces. The inspections are conducted outside during daylight hours and in all weather conditions. The inspector may be exposed to dust and/or dirt.

This is an entry level full-time position; 2nd shift; M-F w/ some weekend work. Willing to train the right candidate. $8.50 per hour to start. Increase to $9.00, 30+ hours w/full benefits upon successful completion of 90 day probationary period/training program. Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, or equivalent.
