Camino Medical Group (CMG) is one of Northern California's largest physician governed, multi-specialty medical groups. CMG is an affiliate of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, which is part of the Sutter Health family of not-for-profit hospitals and physician organizations that share resources and expertise to advance health care quality.
Camino Medical Group's tradition of excellence began in 1954 when six physicians decided to work together and share ideas and resources. These physicians named the group Sunnyvale Medical Clinic. That tradition continued throughout the years as more and more physicians joined the group. In 1994, the clinic changed its name to Camino Medical Group. In 2000, Camino Medical Group affiliated with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, becoming a not-for-profit, community-based organization.
The responsibilites for RN in our Treatment Center clinic include, but are not limited to, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, hydration, intravenous catheter care, access of VAD, medication administration, venipuncture, inhalation treatments, intravesical administration, patient and family education, emergency care of patients, patient follow-up and scheduling procedures. Evaluates and educates patients on symptom management following ONS guidelines for cancer nursing practice. Coordinates care with the physicians, practice nurses and ancillary staff to provide quality and safe care in line with the mission statement of the department. Coordinates care with physicians and support staff in other departments in care of non-oncology patients. Attends a minimum of one oncology conference per year. Evaluates and educates patients on symptom management following department guidelines. Provides patient education related to disease and treatment. Utilizes sensitive communication skills, promotes a sense of well being in the patient and family and provides comfort and dignity to all patients and families. Reports changes in a patient's conditions promptly and appropriately to the physician. Mobilizes resources during a crisis. Collects specimens and performs simple laboratory and screening tests according to policy and procedure. Demonstrates a working knowledge of updated clinical policies and procedures. On a daily basis, collects and reviews all fee tickets for accuracy and turns in according to department policy. Demonstrates a working knowledge of updated clinical policies and procedures. Adjusts to clinic staffing needs under the direction of the manager/team leader to include other related job duties.
Qualified candidates must have: Diploma, AD, BSN or higher from an accredited school of nursing. Current RN licensure from the State of California. Current B.C.L.S. certificate - preferred. Current A.C.L.S. - department specific. Minimum of one-year experience working as a RN Infusion- preferred. IV certification - preferred. Thorough knowledge of nursing process, clinical procedures, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
