Director, Business Development - Ketchum West

The Position:



Reporting to the Ketchum West Office Director and working with existing business development team, this position is responsible for outreach to new business prospects, marketing support and working with senior management to help grow the agency's business.



Responsibilities:



Drive and facilitate all aspects of the business development process for Ketchum West including:



  • Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects across all Ketchum West practice areas.

  • Work with West Coast leadership and business development team to identify key prospects and organize outreach efforts to target high-income and strategic industry organizations. Enhance agency's marketing plans, including existing database and sales materials, to build visibility and promote agency on the West Coast.

  • Participate in agency's global new business network and work closely, Ketchum West's existing business development team and the corporate communications team.

  • Participate in networking opportunities to facilitate relationships with prospects and key influencers.

  • Develop and implement marketing plans, including maintaining a database, to consistently gain visibility and promote the agency in San Francisco Bay Area and greater Los Angeles area.

  • Rapidly gain a deep knowledge of our agency capabilities and be able to propose special offerings to prospects.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage relationships with prospects.

  • Successfully transition leads to appropriate practice leader and monitor relationship development.

  • Facilitate development sessions for the appropriate staff to involve them in developing new business opportunities.

  • Manage outreach to selected Top Tier and Tier II prospects.


Requirements:


  • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or related field and a minimum of 10 years of combined public relations, marketing communications or professional services business development experience.

  • Demonstrated success in business development including experience with sales and marketing processes, and development of professional relationships with client prospects.

  • Must have existing relationships and established rolodex that can translate into new business opportunities.

  • Proven ability to make a professional and positive impression with senior management and C-level executive within potential client organizations.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Proven skills in social and new media.
