Principal Verification Engineer (Processor)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Our group is responsible for verification of the multi-core PowerPC processor cores .

As a Sr. Principal Design Engineer (Verification) your responsibilities will include

· Interacting with Architects/Designers and work on defining the verification strategy

· Architecting Verification environment

· Writing test plan and coverage plan, coding the environment

· Guiding Verification Engineers in the verification process.

Education Requirement or Equivalent (Indicate minimum level of education and area of

Specialty):

BSEE, MSEE or PhD.

Experience Requirement (Indicate minimum number of years of experience and area of specialty):

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with minimum 7 plus years of CPU verification experience.

Essential skills:

· Real project verification experience on processors (PowerPC, x86, ARM, SPARC)

· Ability to understand and develop Assembly tests

· Should have gone through the processor verification cycle on at least 3 different generations

· CPU architecture knowledge (including multi processors, coprocessors, cache design, coherency and coherent interconnects)

· Hands on experience with verification environment design, modeling and implementation using HVL languages like System Verilog/SystemC/vera

· Programming experience to include C/C++ and at least one scripting language (perl, Tcl)

· Must have both Block level and full chip level verification experience

· Knowledge and proven experience in coverage driven and assertion based verification methodology.

Special Skills or Knowledge required (i.e., proficiency in Excel, SAP, semiconductor knowledge, etc.):

Desired Skills:

· SOC verification experience is plus

· Experience with emulators, FPGA prototyping and Cosim methodologies
