Job Description
Job Family Responsibilities:
Responsible for administering and controlling large (generally $1 million and above) customer contracts and purchase orders for electrical systems, consisting of equipment engineered to a customer’s specification from own and other Siemens Divisions, equipment purchased from outside vendors, and contracted services.
Responsible for ensuring project profitability by continually monitoring and reporting financial status of customer contracts, identifying risks and opportunities and anticipating requirements for change orders, time extensions and similar matters that may impact planned results. Key responsibilities include:
• Entering sales orders and projects
• Approving purchase requisitions
• Expediting purchase orders
• Managing project logistics (transport of goods, custom duties, export licenses and documentation)
• Approving vendor invoices for payments
• Monthly revenue and cost forecasting on responsible projects
• Project cash flow analysis
• Customer billing and collections
• Coordinating other contractual requirements (e.g., performance guarantees, insurance, taxes, sureties)
• Ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance on responsible projects
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Analyze, identify, interpret, and evaluate financial, accounting, cost and trend reports in order to advise, assist, and furnish guidance to the Project Manager and the Business Segment Managers toward profit improvement.
Participate with Business Segment Management in contract negotiations (especially for claims and change requests) and advise on favorable terms and contractual risks.
Prepare projects sales, expense budgets, and profit plans and evaluate and measure their realism in expected cost and attainable income objectives in coordination with the Project Manager.
Maintain a current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, procedures, and policies, especially in regards to contractual requirements.
Participate in project reviews and coordinate completion of applicable project review documentation with Project Manager.
Continuously monitor and report financial status of customer contracts. Identifies semi-complex issues and anticipates requirements for additional change orders, time extensions, and similar matters that may affect plan results.
Ensure compliances in the areas of project controlling and risk management in accordance with Siemens policies, contractual requirements, and governing laws/regulations.
Education:
BS/BA in related discipline required.
Knowledge and Experience:
• 3 + years related experience.
• Understanding of project controlling business - including revenue recognition, customer billing and collections, sales and cash flow forecasting, experience managing budgets and cost controlling.
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Bachelor's degree required
SAP experience is a plus.
