Laboratory Supervisor: SGS North America Inc.

Our Port Canaveral, Florida location is seeking an individual who will be responsible for providing supervision to the laboratory testing operations.

• Quality control of Laboratory solutions and standards.
• Provide assistance to clients in explaining Laboratory analysis.
• Assume responsibility for authenticity for Laboratory Certificates of Analysis.
• Receive orders from clients on submitted samples; follow up on job progress and reports status to clients.
• Perform testing and analysis to meet business objectives, when needed.
• Make recommendations to Regional Laboratory Manager on upgrading Laboratory.
• Actively participates in local marketing, sales and business development efforts
• Maintain a thorough understanding of sampling techniques.
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in laboratory technology, federal and state regulations by attend seminars, lectures, meetings and professional conferences and update methodology as appropriate.

Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science, or Biology with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of direct transferable and increasingly responsible supervisory and laboratory experience with thorough knowledge of analytical testing, procedures/specifications and their commercial applications.

· Must be able to work with all chemicals, petrochemicals and petroleum products and be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight.

· Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and other office applications.

· Must be able to work extended hours (evenings, weekend / holiday) when needed to meet business commitments.

· Excellent time management skills which includes the ability to balance multiple projects concurrently (with different deadlines) and marshal the resources necessary to accomplish them.

· Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and other applications.
