Gogo, powered by Aircell, turns a commercial airplane into a Wi-Fi hotspot with true inflight Internet access. We are hiring talented professionals to bring passengers a deep library of great videos inflight. The primary function of the Video Service Product Manager is to bring the most compelling video content (both Hollywood and web centric) to passengers in-flight. This position builds, launches and programs a web based video service to the delight of millions of passengers. The right candidate will be an expert with the online video space and use his/her knowledge to work directly with key stakeholders to ensure business goals are met and the right content is licensed, encoded and ingested into the service. The candidate should have demonstrated strength in managing online content delivery product development across all stages from conception to release to enhancement.

Video Service Product Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the voice of the passenger throughout the product development process;
• Analyze potential content partner relationships and oversee the successful delivery of internal development and external partner integration;
• Design, Develop and operate the process around a video offering including licensing, distribution, encoding, DRM, merchandising and royalties.
• Develop multimedia related product requirements
• Reach as many passengers as possible by optimizing multimedia content mix, user device interoperability and presentation;
• Identify and assess opportunities against business criteria, prioritizing those opportunities with internal stakeholders and external partners;
• Evangelize content vision and value proposition throughout company and to partners;
• Analyze traffic patterns, and user metrics to recommend and validate portal and content improvement initiatives.

Experience:

• Candidate must be a true subject matter expert in online video delivery and the delivery of other multimedia content.
• Has had responsibility for managing video libraries and experienced in latest video licensing models, technologies & formats - especially DRM and Internet distribution related
• 3+ years experience working with online multimedia content, with an excellent track record of developing, launching, and marketing online products.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

• Familiarity with implementing DRM
• Familiarity with Windows Media Player video and licensing functions, flash video & similar technologies.

Education:

• Bachelors in relevant area (or equivalent), MBA strongly preferred.
