Staff Accountant opportunity position for a company located in Fresno , California . This person will be responsible for a performing a variety of general ledger functions. This position requires a demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy with a focus on achievement, excellence, and professionalism.
Reporting:
Analyze data, prepare, and design periodic and ad hoc financial reports for board, management, or regulatory authorities.
Prepare quarterly financial statements and assist with preparation of annual report.
Auditing/Internal Controls/Accounting Procedures
Perform internal control evaluations, including risk assessments, review of risk areas and updates to processes, as assigned.
Perform auditing of financial records or accounting operations, as assigned.
Assist with audit fieldwork for SOX, operational and financial audits.
Recommend and assist with implementation of accounting controls, policies and procedures.
Research, review, and update of Association accounting and accounting related policies and procedures, as assigned.
General Ledger:
Prepare standard journal entries, including amortization of all prepaid assets and monthly, quarterly or annual accruals. Maintain accurate and thorough subsidiary files.
Perform periodic review of the general ledger by reviewing reports and accounts for input accuracy and that the accounts have been reviewed for content.
Performs a variety of account analysis and reconcilements, including monthly bank reconcilements.
Research and correct account discrepancies.
Assist with month end close process.
Budgeting/Financial Analysis
Assist with design/preparation of financial plans and budgets. Monitor results and prepare related management/board reports.
Financial/variance analysis of balance sheet and income statements throughout the month and at month end. Investigate and resolve necessary items. Prepare related management/board reports.
Perform complex analysis in the areas of asset liability management and income and expense performance.
Perform financial analysis and modeling.
Assist with development and annual analysis of cost allocations between Associations. Process monthly cost allocations and maintain related records.
Prepare quarterly tax deposit estimates, personal property tax reports and schedules and reports for the external tax accounting firm. |
