The Group Business Development Rep (GBDR) is responsible for the following:
- Enhancing the value of the assigned centers through the leasing of temporary space to tenants on terms favorable to the Company.
- Achieving Specialty Leasing income goals established for assigned centers.
- Working with the mall team in preparing the Specialty Leasing budget and business plan for assigned centers.
- Generating new income and meeting income targets at all assigned centers.
- Generating new leads for assigned centers, negotiates deals, and maintains accounts.
- Group Business Development Representative canvasses region to find and develop new retail concepts for the centers and works to expand their retail operations to additional centers.
- Group Business Development Representative ensures all specialty leasing retailers are adhering to the company operating procedures.
- Group Business Development Representative ensures that specialty leasing retailers enhance the appearance and values of the shopping centers and company visual merchandising requirements and standards of professionalism.
- Group Business Development Representative keeps abreast of competitive Specialty Leasing trends industry/region areas and the areas of all assigned centers.
- Group Business Development Representative reviews and approves all licenses generated by General.
- Group Business Development Representative is responsible for the managers in their region according to approval guidelines as set by the VP of Business Development.
- Group Business Development Representative coordinates all national client leasing activity with General Managers to ensure consistency, maximizes rents and provides superior customer service.
- Group Business Development Representative coordinates all merchandise purchases with General managers and suppliers.
- Group Business Development Representative monitors year to date progress, trouble shoot, identifies problems, and works to develop solutions with VP of Business Development.
- Group Business Development Representative assists in select centers rent collections, visual merchandising, and problem tenants as needed.
- Group Business Development Representative attends appropriate ICSC and GGP seminars, conventions, trainings, and meetings.
- Group Business Development Representative assists in the training, managing, coaching, and mentoring of mall personnel.
- Group Business Development Representative must clearly communicate all deals and leasing activity with each assigned centers General Manager, Specialty Leasing Coordinator, and Regional Vice President-Business Development.
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Three to five (3 - 5) years of experience in a sales capacity required with 5+ years preferred.
- Must have strong computer skills, with experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong ability to initiate sales contacts
- Understanding of the specialty leasing process, rent structure and legal terminology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Developed sales skills

- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Self-starter with strong organizational, planning and time management skills
