Senior Tax Analyst Purpose/Role Statement The Analyst, Sr Tax is key team player and provides planning, reporting and analytical support for the Corporate Tax Accounting Group. The senior analyst will play a primary role in enabling the company to develop, measure and meet its strategic goals related to the impact tax has on financial results, USGAAP tax compliance, financial tax reporting, 404 controls, and forecasting for the effective tax rate, balance sheet and cash flow. Key Responsibilities - Evaluate and quantify the impact of significant tax strategy and impact on financial reporting.
- Ensure the integrity and maintenance of the global tax provision and income tax account reconciliation processes
- Interim and year end reporting including all SEC tax required disclosures.
- Integrating impact of acquisitions and divestitures into financial reporting
- Forecasting for tax cash flow, balance sheet and effective rate
- Coordinating information requests with external tax auditors
- Responsible for coordinating tax SOX 404 requirements and compliance
- Coordinate and implement new FAS rules or US GAAP requirements
- Lead Corporate Tax Group in development and training of new accounting standards
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
Qualifications - BS in Accounting, MST or MST Candidates preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in public accounting or in a corporate tax department.
- Solid understanding of Federal, international and state income tax rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48, and the US GAAP accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and research skills, with proficiency in Microsoft, Accounting and Tax software (SAP, CORP TAX, MS Excel, Hyperion, Tax Stream).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, meet deadlines and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in a team environment
