3G WIRELESS HARDWARE MANAGER
Overview:
The ideal candidate will lead all hardware design efforts within our clients extensive, public wireless organization. Candidate will also be responsible for managing the development team which consists of dual internal / external entities
Responsibilities:
Ø setting goals and objectives for team members, monitoring progress, planning schedules and resources for the team
Ø responsible for knowing, implementing and enforcing company policies with team team members, leading by example, and personnel management (performance evaluations, planning training, career development, etc.)
Ø Lead hardware and mechanical architecture design for projects
Ø Coordinate with Operations team for factory introduction of products
Ø Communicate with all members of the cross functional development team (SW, FW, Mechanical, Operations, Manufacturing Test, Program Management, Product Management, etc.)
Requirements:
10+ years of dedicated experience HW design and spearheading commercially-graded product deployments on tight timetables and development schedules
Wireless 3G tech background required- GSM/UMTS, EVDO, CDMA
Able to develop, track and deliver on development schedules
Working knowledge of dealing directly with contract manufacturers, 3rd party design houses and systems development firms is required
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Have to be hands-on, with the management experience to also mentor others
Team-player mentality
Minimum BSEE degree; MS ideal, but not required
Preference given if you have:
Certification experience in the regulatory niche
Previous experience recruiting strong candidates
Experience leading multi-grade hardware design efforts
