Broadcom is enabling the next generation of wireless handheld devices with market-leading performance in low-power HD video playback and record, 2D and 3D graphics acceleration. We are looking for smart, motivated, hands-on leader for its MultiMedia and Graphics team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team that is responsible for developing, maintaining and testing software of MultiMedia and graphics stack. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
· Manage/Lead a team of software developers and product through complete life cycle from requirement generation to release.
· Provide technical leadership to the team.
· Prepare schedule and communicate with internal management, SW and ASIC teams and external customers.
· Design, develop, maintain and test software for MultiMedia and Graphics stack.
· Manage/Develop necessary documentation and present to customers and marketing team.
Job Requirements :
Typically requires a BS degree and 12 years of experience or an MS degree and 10 years of experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading team(s) developing multimedia software.
A minimum of 5 years of experience and proficiency in C, assembly and multimedia/graphics software development.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the use of Source Code Control Management Systems and Bug tracking systems.
Ability to write requirement and design documents for customers as well as Broadcom's Marketing and Engineering departments.
Strong communication skills are a must.
Proven track record of bringing new software products to market.
Experience in one or more of the following is also required:
· In depth knowledge of multimedia and graphics subsystems
· Understanding of Multimedia and Graphics sub-systems in at least one of the OS's: Linux, Windows Mobile and Symbian
· Experience with power management techniques
· Experience in security and DRM protocols
· Experience in ARM is a plus.
