The Public Relations and Customer References Manager is a key member of a small Corporate Communications team that works closely with the CEO, other senior executives and the marketing organization. Operating under the general guidance of the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Manager will have independent responsibility and authority for a range of programs and activities designed to raise Quantum's visibility and enhance its position as a leader in data storage.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement PR strategies/plans for Quantum's StorNext software platform, tape products, and related partnerships and initiatives
- Manage customer reference activities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with press and industry analysts
- Provide direction/guidance to external PR agency
- Coordinate closely with marketing colleagues, including those outside the U.S.
- Prepare presentations, write press releases, and develop messaging points and other materials
- Assist with other Corporate Communications activities as needed

Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in high-tech PR or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or employment.

Candidates must have experience managing PR programs and customer reference activities and a demonstrated capacity for securing press coverage and building solid relationships with industry analysts. They should be able to work effectively in a distributed organization and keep multiple projects moving forward, even as new demands arise. The ideal candidate will have worked for a storage or software company.

Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong analytical abilities and superb judgment. They must be flexible and self-motivated and be able to show proven results working in a team environment.
