Works directly with customers and clients to accelerate resolution on accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Taking inbound calls from patients who have inquiries or requests concerning their hospital bill/balance 2. Responding to all inquires efficiently, politely, and appropriately 3. Documenting all calls and information into the CUBS system 4. Handling requests for financial assistance and itemized statements 5. Updating patient insurance information and billing or rebilling the insurance company 6. Contact insurance companies and physician's offices as necessary to gather information for account resolution 7. Process and document incoming documents from liaisons 8. Set up payment arrangements with guarantors and follow up with them in the event that payment is not made 9. Making outgoing calls as needed 10. Performing other duties as required
Skill: - Must have previous customer service experience in a medical and/or medical billing environment - Effective oral and written communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work efficiently is a high call volume call center - Typing proficiency - Computer literacy (working knowledge of CUBS system is a plus, but not required) - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word - Ability to multitask
