Test development using PCB assemblies and systems, C++, LabView, Perl Contractor - Manufacturing Test Development Engineer
Department: Manufacturing Engineering, reporting to Director of Manufacturing Engineering
Location: Headquarters, Sunnyvale, California
Requirements
A technical professional within the computer hardware, networking, and/or video broadcast industries with at least
7+ years of test development experience involving complex PCB assemblies and systems, and a minimum of a BSEE/T or equivalent. Additional qualifications are as follows:
- Ability to develop automated test scripts for embedded systems.
- Hands on programming experience in C++.
- Hands on experience in the following scripting languages: Perl, LabView, Expect, VB.net.
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Hands on experience with Linux shell scripting.
- Hands on experience with PC configurations and Windows.
- Ability to write low level and high level diagnostics software.
- Ability to interface with design engineers to influence new products for DFx, define test strategy, and resolve technical issues.
- Hands on experience with structural test equipment including ICT, Flying Probe, AOI, and 5Dx.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Through understanding of digital design concepts and development practices.
- Basic understanding of video broadcasting equipment and architecture.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot all levels of analog and digital circuits to component level.
- Knowledge of analog and digital measurement techniques and design margin principals.
- Ability to set up and use lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and other input/output electronic test equipment.
- Receive minimal direction towards daily goals and objectives.
Position Description
Selected candidate will perform the following principal duties:
- Develop overall production test strategy (and plans) for the future generation of Omneon products.
- Provide direction for all test, diagnostics and documentation activities for Omneon and our suppliers.
- Develop and implement automated test scripts for new and sustaining products.
- Develop and deploy functional test equipment, fixtures and procedures for new and sustaining products.
- Work concurrently with the design engineering team to analyze and influence new products from a DFx perspective.
- Work concurrently with the design engineering team to define diagnostics test requirements, develop diagnostics test plans, and validate diagnostics prior to release to production.
- Resolve production test issues by working with contract manufacturing suppliers and OEM suppliers.
- Train production personnel, including debug technicians, prior to release to pilot production.
- Monitor test failure trends in production and implement corrective action(s) to improve production test yields.
