Position Title: Lead Handset Architect Company Overview The company is a VC-funded mobile advertising company, focusing on dynamic ad insertion technology for Mobile TV and applications. The company is looking for a hands-on mobile software expert to be responsible for the company’s handset architecture. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and make a significant contribution to the company's technology offering. Position Overview The Lead Handset Architect will play a key role in defining the direction and scope of development for the handset component of the solution. The Lead Handset Architect will be responsible for • Defining the handset architecture and multi-platform support strategy• Working with a focused development team to implement the solution• Mentoring the team and building internal mobile expertise, and• Working with the server-side architects and product managers toensure a cohesive end-to-end solution. Experience in developing and commercializing mobile systems and services is essential. The ability and desire to roll up your sleeves and contribute directly is a must. Requirements • Advanced degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering• 6-10 years experience in handset development, with mobile media playerarchitecture experience • Knowledge and experience in mobile network protocols and programmingin 2G and 3G environments • Java ME, Windows Mobile, Symbian and BREW platform expertise• Deep Java and C/C++ programming experience on multi-threaded,resource-constrained devices • Excellent architecture and design skills, including use of design patternsand UML • Knowledge of industry standards and protocols relevant to the mobilespace, including DVB-H, OMA, and XML • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills• Self-starter - Ability to take on multiple tasks and roles
