Strategic Applications Engineer – Applied Converters
Description:
We are currently searching for a top of the line application engineers that will aid in the support of the development cycle of our semiconductor products. The successful candidate will gain expertise in the support of product application-specific data converters within the Signal Processing & Conversion business unit.
Our company’s business unit’s work similar to a smaller company within an organization that has control over future direction, end markets, and end user products. This position serves a vital role in the Product Applications & Marketing team that has the responsibility of promoting both current and next generation products.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility of offering customer support for those who participate in new product development and use the company’s chips. He or she will serve as a mixed-signal & analog board-level designer that will have solid written & verbal communication skills.
Duties:
-Characterize circuits & chips -Make recommendations of parts to customers
-Script articles for international & national magazines
-Develop & identify opportunities for the business that emphasize technical support & sales
-Design circuits with complex applications
-Make visits to customers to endorse parts -Define the latest chips
-Train field application engineer and internal sales teams
-Lead investigations for failure analysis -Develop simple application circuits that are for customers
Key Responsibilities:
-Evaluate the latest products & script product literature (application notes & data sheets)
-Offer support to Business Management by reviewing the manuscripts of new devices
-Work with the definition of the product to make contributions to the completion of the product definition. These contributions will include: market studies, application diagrams, & competitive analyses performed under the direction of a Product Definer.
-Interface with Account managers, Business Management, & Field Application Engineers to secure design wins.
-Offer quick, turnkey specific product technical applications engineering support to the field teams & customers -Perform lab evaluations on both existing & new product silicon -Create summaries of competitive analysis
-Have experience with debugging, characterizing, & designing analog circuits.
-Layout, build, design, & test application boards to both demonstrate & promote our products
-Interface with Field Personnel & the Business Manager to secure design wins -Give ideas & content for data sheets, EV kits, & the web site
-Create an evaluation kit & reference design software/hardware if needed. Finish the draft of the manuscript for the evaluation kit datasheet.
-Establish peripheral tools & drivers that are product specific -Give application support that is product device specific, along with answering questions, educating others, solving debug issues, & solving problems for customers that relate that both existing and new devices & evaluation kits. (Some cases may involve travel)
-Write notes for application, articles, user guides, new product proposals, design ideas, & evaluation kit manuscripts for external and/or internal publication.
