Senior/Staff Applications Engineer: Telegent Systems

Telegent is revolutionizing how people think about and experience mobile TV. We are a pre-IPO semiconductor company whose technology enables mobile phones and PCs to receive the same over-the-air TV broadcasts that one views on a conventional TV set at home. In less than two years, our technology has been adopted by more than 50 million consumers, mostly in developing countries, and our shipments in 2008 represented approximately 30-40% of the global broadcast TV handset market. We are a global company with regional headquarters located in Sunnyvale and Shanghai, and we work with manufacturers, operators and consumers around the world to evangelize mobile and portable TV and enable best-in-class implementation and consumer experience.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and evaluate applications and demo boards for RF IC products.

• Develop reference designs
• Communicate with customers via phone, email and provide help and assistance to customers on the evaluations of RF ICs.
• Provide help and assistance to customers with implementation of RF ICs into customers' products.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of analog / digital communications systems theory.
• A system perspective with a component-level understanding.
• Knowledge of schematics and layout tools (i.e. OrCAD, PADs).
• Experience with high frequency board design up to 3GHz.
• Knowledge of OFDM is a plus.
• Layout experience is a plus.
• Mobile phone design experience preferred
• Experience with Analog and RF Test equipment (i.e. spectrum analyzers, network analyzer, etc.)
• Good trouble shooting skills and the ability to strictly follow a schedule.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with multi-cultural teams.
• 3 years or more of directly related experience.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Mandarin speaking is preferred.

Ideal or desirable:

· Broadband RF experience and/or experience with over-the-air- and cable TV systems a plus

· Understanding of RF shielding and EMI issues

Education:

MSEE + minimum of 5 years applicable experience.
