ANIMAL SHELTER TECHNICIAN

(1 Part-time vacancy/15-19 hours per week)

Position Overview

The Animal Shelter Technician maintains the kennels and kennel area, cares for animals, receives and processes animals, and assists citizens with adoptions and redemption of animals.

Job Duties

• Cleans and disinfects shelter to include cages, runs, bowls and feeding utensils.
• Feeds and waters sheltered animals to include dogs, cats, birds, wildlife and others.
• Receives and cares for kennel animals, assist public with adoption and handling of animals.
• Performs basic clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One (1) year customer service and related animal care experience required
• Hours of work for Animal Shelter Technicians vary Monday – Friday 7-12 or 8 – 1; Saturday 8-5; Sunday 9-11.

Starting Salary/Non-Exempt: $9.53 per hour.
