Job Description
Direct teams of technicians and contractors in the repair and maintenance of customer wind turbine equipment. Coordinate and manage staffing of teams at the job site and recommend staffing levels of teams as required. Provide wind turbine apparatus and interface knowledge/expertise to operations management and customer management to plan and accomplish assignments. Review customer contracts and assignment objectives, assist in planning to satisfy those needs, interface with operations, customer managers and suppliers to maintain service schedules. Take lead role in coordinating technical and non-technical personnel at the job site. Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning conditions, actions taken or required, results obtained, maintenance recommendations and repair problems. Promote maximum customer acceptance of the division’s capabilities and wind turbine availability and reliability. Transmit daily status reports as contractually required. Conduct safety meetings daily.
Skills:
Advanced engineering skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Requires the coordination and implementation of work schedules to meet service schedules with optimum utilization of human and physical resources; Requires the determination of solutions and self confidence to act independently as a Siemens Wind power representative at remote sites.; Communicate information for potential future business; Requires strong negotiation skills to interface with operations and customer management and technician teams to achieve group objectives; Requires strong writing skills to prepare accurate reports for internal and external customer use; Clear commitment to safety and quality a requirement.
General Requirements:
Performs on-site technical and operational oversight in the troubleshooting, service and maintenance of wind turbine equipment. Completes and submits reports covering all job activity.
Education:
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
