Position Description:
Individuals filling this position require highly technical expertise in computer network and telecommunications technology for engineering design and implementation. Solve highly unusual and extremely complex technical, administrative, and management problems that require a high level of analytical ability. Experience and judgment are essential to plan and accomplish goals. Engineers will supervise subordinate personnel and require a high degree of creativity and latitude to meet customer requirements.
The job functions will include the following: Assist senior systems analyst and be the lead wireless local area network ( WLAN) infrastructure surveys, data analysis, design, implementation, and testing as part of a team in support of customer directed requirements. Interact with Government and industry systems analysts/engineers to activate and integrate WLAN technology. Assist help desk trouble shooting and just-in-time support as needed. Travel up to 60% of time to participate in site activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with IEEE 802.11 wireless technology.
- Experience with wireless local area network (WLAN) infrastructure.
- A masters degree and four (4) years experience in applicable information technology discipline or a bachelor's degree and eight (8) years experience in appropriate information technology discipline. An associate’s degree and relevant professional certification(s) may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirments.
- Candidates must be willing and able to pass an extensive background investigation and be able to get a secret clearance or have a secret clearance.
