Overview:
Performs a variety of human resources duties related to day-to-day administration of employee benefits, immigration, and employee relations. Communicates, interprets, and resolves issues relating to HR policies and procedures. Ensures effective delivery of HR core processes, and compliance with relevant company guidelines, employment laws, regulations, policies and practices. Provides front-line support for employees on HR related issues and for policy interpretation and application.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages the administration of the benefits programs, conducts benefit meetings for new hires and assists with open enrollment.
2. Serves as primary liaison with providers to administer employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, long and short-term disability, employee assistance program, and other voluntary programs through providers.
3. Administers and reports all leaves of absences including direct communication with employees and management on return to work status.
4. Provides functional support, guidance, and direction to management and employees regarding benefits programs.
5. Coordinates HR policies and procedures with subsidiary HR personnel.
6. Responsible for maintenance of human resources records related to enrollment, application, and claims for all benefit plans.
7. Prepares benefit information and statistical reports for insurance carriers and management.
8. Communicates updates and changes to benefits plans and/or approved new plans to employees.
9. Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws pertaining to benefits programs.
10. Responsible for preparing reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies.
11. Manages immigration processes (H-1B, L-1, TN, Green Card, etc.).
12. Provides front-line support for employees on HR related issues and for policy interpretation and application; listens to employee concerns and provides feedback to HR Manager; conducts investigations and recommends actions; determines when to escalate employee relations issues as appropriate.
13. Administers and/or coordinates HR programs such as the performance appraisal and merit review process and other employee-related programs.
14. Conducts terminations as needed.
15. Conducts exit interviews.
16. Administers workers compensation claims including reporting injuries and providing monthly reporting.
17. May assist in development and delivery of training programs.
18. Performs other essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Usually requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR Management, or related field and/or 3-4 years of applicable HR experience.
2. Demonstrated employee relations’ skills, excellent verbal/written communication skills.
3. Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
4. Must have thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws, such as ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, FLSA, Worker’s Compensation, Disability Programs and Unemployment Claims.
5. Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail. Expected to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business related software systems; Oracle HRMS experience preferred.
7. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
8. Excellent phone skills, diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism to deal with issues of the utmost urgency and sensitivity.
9. Willingness to pitch-in and contribute where needed.
10. Works well under pressure and time constraints.
