The Broadcom Wireless LAN Software Group has written code enabling wireless functionality in video game consoles like Nintendo Wii; consumer devices like the Apple AirPort base station and routers from companies such as Linksys, Netgear, Buffalo; WiFi phones from vendors such as Linksys and Dlink; and laptops and desktops from companies such as Apple, Dell, HP and others. Responsibilities include designing software to drive Broadcom's test systems to enable high volume chip production as well as software to enable detailed characterization and evaluation of RF chip and board designs. Interface with the system architecture group, outside customers (board manufacturers and developers), and both chip and board design teams.
Job Requirements :
BSEE or equivalent required. The position requires a good understanding of software design and tools, including C++, Visual Studio, make, and software revision control. Understanding of TCP/IP basic protocols required, including socket programming.
Solid debug skills are required and an understanding of client server computing is desired.
Track record of working with partner companies is highly desirable.
