Distribution Sales Manager (090231012)

Reports to: VP of Channel Sales

Key Task:

To successfully increase the distribution and sales of Actiontec’s branded xDSL & FTTx CPE, networking, and connectivity solutions through vertical distribution channels.

Objectives

Develop strategic distribution relationships within key vertical channels to achieve market penetration and revenue goals. Build dealer / service provider customer base through extensive cold calling, business development, and related sales activities.

The primary responsibility; grow market share in key vertical segments. The Distribution Sales Manager will be accountable to meet or exceed quarterly revenue goals for Actiontec’s growing distribution business. This requires the ability to analyze our distributors’ customer segments, understand the entire competitive landscape, and roll out well-positioned sales, marketing, and business development initiatives.

You should have experience selling to and growing distribution relationships. A successful candidate will have experience with ISP, IOC, CLEC, and/ or CEDIA/ CI companies.

Duties:

  • Responsible for developing, expanding and managing expanding current accounts, acquiring new accounts, working with distribution partners.
  • Develop ways to motivate distributors to increase sales
  • Partner with distribution sales teams to penetrate key accounts, and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Work with Actiontec Reseller Account Manager to ensure positive customer experience.
  • Develop strategic marketing programs with and emphasis on driving sales
  • Work distribution level trade events; promote Actiontec to reseller customers.
  • Work directly to develop large vertical sales opportunities
  • Understand the full scope of the competitive landscape; be prepared to brief management on market shifts and technology trends.
  • Provide regular stand-up training at distributor locations
  • Develop relationships with key sales, marketing, and product management personnel.
  • Develop co-marketing and cross marketing opportunities by identifying partnership and alliance opportunities.
  • Exceptional phone and face to face selling skills
  • Strong presentation skills are a must, and travel will be required.

Successful candidate will be an experienced closer with a strong distribution background. Candidate must be energetic and willing to dig in to cold-calling and related sales assignments. Must be able to motivate channel partners; drive sales and promotional activities at the distribution level to increase sales.

The candidate must have a good technical aptitude, and a strong understanding of networking technologies. Experience, contacts, and a background commiserate with the task at hand is a plus.
