Fastest growing sales team, huge room for growth! Due to product demand, our Federal Sales force is expanding. We are currently seeking an experienced Outside Sales Rep to join our Federal Government sales team.

As a Federal Government Outside Sales Rep, you will be responsible for managing and growing Spectra Logic's product sales to both DoD and civilian federal government customers. You'll work the entire sales pipeline from prospect to close, all focused on Federal customers. We are seeking an individual who possesses the following qualities:

  • At least 5 years experience selling technology solutions (hardware or software) to federal government agencies (DOD+Civilian) and integrators;
  • Knowledge of key Government accounts and contacts, including major end-users in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington DC;
  • The ability to develop a prospect list, build a pipeline of opportunities and close business;
  • A history of exceeding sales targets;
  • Above average presentation skills;
  • Strong internal desire to succeed in a dynamic fast-growth industry;
  • Have hands-on knowledge of business cultures and sales processes inside the Beltway;
  • Previous experience selling storage hardware or software (tape libraries, storage devices or backup application software) preferred but not required.

Note: Experience with government integrators like EDS, Northrop-Grumman, SAIC, CSC, Raytheon, CACI or Lockheed Martin an added plus.

Territory:
Federal Government Accounts, in both in the Department of Defense and in civilian agencies. Only Candidates with experience working with the US Government and GSA will be considered.

Territory Team:
You will have the following team for support: An Order Admin assigned to enter orders; an Inside Business Rep to provide sales and support, OEM, Catalog & Crossover; and a Sales Engineer for pre-post sales support.

Work Site:
Home officed in the territory, preferably in the DC/Northern Virginia/ Maryland area. Company office space provided in Springfield, VA as well. Target area codes include 202, 301, 240, 443, 410, 703, 571, 804, 540, 757 & 304. Unfortunately, candidates not currently living in one of these area codes cannot be considered. No relocation assistance provided - local candidates only please.

Education/Experience:
Prefer a four-year degree, or equivalent technical or military experience.

Travel:
This position is projected to have approximately 60% travel.

Status:
Full Time, Direct Hire Exempt Position.

Compensation:
Base salary, plus commissions on gross profit, plus bonus.
