Job Description
Executes, supports, and maintains a life cycle plan for a new or existing product or product family from a regional and/or global perspective. Leads development efforts for major fixes and enhancements for existing products or development efforts for a new product or product family, and takes a product concept from idea to market acceptance. Represents the voice of the customer, defines customer needs and prioritizes based on ROI. Responsible for pricing, forecasting, ROI, promotion, product positioning, product naming, migration planning, competitive analysis, part number, factory phase-in/out, product announcement, leading rollout and all other issues related to the product or product family. May have management responsibility for Product Specialists. Performs staff management and administrative responsibilities of: recruitment, performance evaluation, mentoring, skills development, disciplinary actions and salary management. Coordinates product development and positioning with other Siemens divisions and within SBT. Directs customer interactions, strategic communications, and sales support including customer and industry presentations. Evaluates new and emerging technologies and business methods for useful fit. Mentors development team members within product management and engineering groups. Provide field sales support. May participate in external industry organizations and committees as a representative of the company. Manages vendor relationships.
Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in technical or marketing field, ideally with an additional related coursework (e.g. MBA) Minimum 5 years experience in Product Management, or equivalent industry, field and/or Engineering Project Management experience. Strong product knowledge necessary. Strong technical aptitude and understanding of complex electrical, mechanical, computer and networking concepts. Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills are required. Must be self-driven and have strong leadership skills. Ability to think and act in a complex business environment. Strong computer skills in Microsoft environment.
