DESKTOP SERVICES SPECIALIST From its early days as an experimental school, The New England Center for Children (NECC) has developed into a leader on several critical fronts, in particular for its approaches to teaching, training, and applied educational research for children with autism. Since its founding, The New England Center for Children’s mission has been to provide state-of-the-art education and individualized treatment—with care and respect—for children with autism and other related disabilities.

We have a current opening for an entry level professional in our expanding Information Services Department. Under the supervision of the Director of Information Services, the Desktop Services Specialist is responsible for hardware maintenance, software configuration and end user support.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform testing on desktop and laptop computers, printers and various peripheral devices;
  • Support AV equipment in conference rooms;
  • Deploy new computers, and peripherals;
  • Install desktop applications;
  • Assign folder permission and other access rights;
  • Maintain complete hardware inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of the following system applications; MS office, MS outlook, MS SharePoint
  • Windows Security, VPN and Wireless network
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong results orientation.
