Customer Service Representative: Kennelwood Pet Resort

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Supports KVI through the customer service functions including but not limited to: being the first point of contact for customer reservations, front desk reception, customer concerns and cash handling. The goal is to provide quality and efficient customer service to every customer – both internal and external. This position will assist the facility/department manager in meeting the CS goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensuring customer service calls are answered in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner.
• Resolving customer concerns in a professional manner.
• Communicate with clients, guests, and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ensures that any special pet handling requirements are met and that each guest receives outstanding service by meeting or exceeding our “Trust, Commitment, Loving Care” objectives.
• Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.
• Accesses risks and takes appropriate action to assure a safe working environment. If required, accurately tracks, records, and investigates pet/injuries or safety concerns.
• Maintains clientele and generates future clients by providing a standard of excellence in customer service
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned by Facility Manager.
• Ensure proper documentation is performed and kept orderly on all incoming/outgoing clientele.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Language Skills - Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language. Interpret document such as customer receipts, special work instructions, departmental reports, budget reports, etc. Ability to write routine report and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate will with customers.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills & Abilities

• Typing 25 wpm minimum
• Must be familiar with computer (keyboard, screen & mouse) and multi-line telephone usage
• Must be familiar with all products lines and customer base

Working Conditions – Primarily working inside temperature controlled building. Employees must have the ability to work in and around animal hair and dander. Generally well-lighted with high noise levels (i.e. animals barking, machine running, etc.) May be expected to work with or come into contact with water, animal hair, dander, animal excrement, chemicals and live animals on a daily basis. Hours are 7am-6pm.
