Principal Product Marketing Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides marketing direction for one or more products within a product family within a line of business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Bridges development, product management and sales to manage a product's life cycle.
· Plans and implements product launches, core positioning and messaging, sales training and marketing programs and for assigned products.
· Responsibilities include assessing market requirements, investigating new technologies, developing recommendations for technical product direction, establishing market and pricing plans and strategies and roadmap plan-of-records.
· Guides product introductions and product updates.
· Also responsible for product business plan, forecasts, profit and loss, margins, risk factors, overall business plan, pricing analysis and recommendations.
· Position requires ability to interface with all levels of the organization including the executive management team, global marketing and product management, as well as external customers, press & industry analysts.

SKILLS:
This individual will need to be results-oriented, focused, creative, highly communicative and independent, while being able to enlist the support of others. Be able to gather input from multiple sources and be an innovative problem solver. Receive general instructions for required tasks with the ability to successfully complete them in the time allotted. Use sound judgment and policies to reach solutions. Represent EMC in a positive and effective manner, exhibiting behavior consistent with EMC’s values


Additionally, candidates should have:
· Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred.
· 4-7 years high tech experience in marketing.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong business writing skills.
· Ability to influence others to achieve results.
· Strong problem solving skills.
· Ability to manage projects in a matrix environment.
· Understanding of EMC's products and their value added to the customer.
