The Implementation Project Manager, direct reports to the ESS Delivery Support Services (DSS) manager, is responsible for assisting DSS to fulfill its purpose toward providing the processes, tools, training, and consulting expertise to help ACS ESS improve the effectiveness of its large-scale implementations and transitions as measured by schedule, cost and quality. Specifically, the project manager will provide the following DSS implementation planning and consulting services to an ESS LOB program:
o conduct RFP and deal pursuit risk assessments
o provide implementation project start-up assistance
o conduct in-flight project reviews
o conduct toll gate reviews
o conduct lessons learned capture from the field
o conduct Implementation Manager Workshops.
The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of large scale application systems integration implementation experience and project turnaround experience with a consistent track record of on-time, within budget and within quality parameters. The candidate must have an operations background including a history of developing and successfully executing complex business plans. Experience in business development support is a plus.
Qualified candidates should be a seasoned project leader who applies a structured approach and in-depth working knowledge of financial/business concepts, policies, practices, processes and procedures to the most complex range of assignments. The Implementation Project Manager must work independently, with general guidance from management. The role requires frequent, regular interaction with the senior executive management, and particularly with the operations/project management support and project control functions. The person must possess exemplary planning, organization, problem analysis, project management and presentation skills.
The candidate must have the flexibility to travel up to 25% of their time.
Position Qualifications
- 10+ years of large-scale (> 100,000 hours of effort) application systems integration implementation experience in a complex (multiple application systems, solution teams and subcontracting companies) transition outsourcing environment.
- At least 5 years of successful organizational and project level turnaround expertise.
- Ability to successfully monitor and guide a large scale implementation project.
- Background and ability to lead and conduct deep-dive project reviews.
- Strong business analytics and financial acumen.
- Undergraduate degree required in a related field.
Primary Responsibilities
o Produce, maintain and drive the closure of ESS Line of Business (LOB) level systemic issues common to implementation projects.
o Regularly meet with - and assist - senior ESS LOB leaders with business, operational, project planning and tactics.
o Participate in improving the ESS LOB methodology by providing best practice guidance, content and training.
o Provide independent project health reviews to ACS customers at the request of senior ACS and/or customer management.
o Review and provide recommendations on in-flight programs, using the DSS in-flight project review processes and tools, at the request of Sr. ESS Leadership. Stay along-side the project to ensure recommendations are implemented timely.
o Conducting independent project toll gate quality control reviews.
o Provide content and risk review of project artifacts through technical and qualitative analysis.
o Participate in project deliverable peer review sessions.
o Prepare and conduct Implementation Manager Workshops.
o Prepare and conduct Lessons Learned Sessions.
o Conduct risk reviews of required new-deal implementation-focused artifacts (as documented within the LOB Deal Pursuit methodology) resulting in a risk opinion to ESS senior management and recommendations to the Deal Pursuit team.
