Underwriter - Loggers Program - Schinnerer - Chevy Chase, MD: Marsh

Responsible for underwriting and profitability of assigned Loggers Property and Casualty program. Ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines, pricing and program growth and retention objectives while maintaining an acceptable combined loss ratio. The potential candidate should possess skills in developing a positive business relationship built on mutual trust. Needs to be self motivated and have the ability to work independently. Some travel required.
· College degree preferred.
· CPCU or ARM designation a plus.
· 5-7 years minimum underwriting experience in mid-sized commercial P&C lines including Property, General Liability, Auto, including trucking exposures, and Inland Marine.
· Heavy emphasis on Inland Marine including transit exposure, heavy equipment, leased equipment. Experience with large contractor and agriculture equipment a plus.
· Program development or management a plus.
· Proven track record of identifying new business opportunities and meeting new business and renewal production goals.
· Meets client needs by offering innovative solutions, resolving difficult risk issues, providing customer support.
· Develops and maintains effective network within the business community and industry.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong analytical and judgment skills; excellent problem solving ability.
· Good organization and time management skills.
· Self motivated
