Currently, Chubb is seeking a Quanitiative Specialist or Actuarial Specialist for the Warren, NJ office.


Position Description:
This position is a quantitative specialist or actuarial specialist within the Actuarial section of the Claims Dept, and the primary role will be to perform analysis on emerging claim trends. This position will report directly to the Claims Actuary, and involve significant collaboration and coordination with the Home Office Claims discipline managers and Claims IT.

The major duties and responsibilities would include the following:
1. Analyze emerging claim trends or anomalous results in traditional Claims metrics, such as reserve adequacy, inventory management, litigation management, recovery, and claim outcome.
2. Develop metrics and analytics to measure the financial and operational performance of key Claims Dept. initiatives.
3. Provide business support to Claim IT to automate these key reports.
4. Participate in the regular preparation of claim trend reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
5. Each quarter close, partner with a few home office claims managers to walk them through your analysis of their discipline specific claims trends, and help them prepare for meetings with actuaries and underwriters.
6. Participate in various Claims project teams as assigned, injecting an evaluation methodology that is grounded in quantitative analysis.

Competencies/Tech Skills:
The candidate should have three to seven years of relevant experience. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required. Proficiency in Excel is required, and Access, Cognos, and Focus are a plus. The candidate must also possess excellent time management and oral and written communication skills.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with three to seven actuarial exams –OR- a Masters degree in Mathematics or Statistics
