Optical Design Engineer
Background:
Our company uses high-IQE semiconductor quantum dots as remote phosphors (QDRP) for applications in illumination & BLUs. QDRPs are of the best solutions because of their ability to supply high energy efficiency, allow spectral engineering, and enable an easier systems integration.
Major responsibilities:
• Modeling & optical design of QDRP systems & components.
• Optical characterization of the QDRP system & component
• Creating a testing lab and optical characterization for QDRP systems & components
• Working with customers to facilitate implementation & develop reference designs.
• Interface with a team to create the latest lighting solutions
Required Experience/skills:
• At least five years of experience in an environment that dealt with the production of LED / display products
• Working knowledge of characterization of optical systems in a lab
• Solid background in semiconductor physics, statistics, & optics
• Mechanical/Optical Design experience (ex: Proe, ASAP/LightTools, Zemax, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of Semiconductor packaging and processing is a bonus
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Good team work abilities, while also being able to think and work independently
Education Requirements:
- BS in any of the following: electrical engineering, chemistry, physics, material science, or a related field. (An advanced degree is a plus)
